Stephen M. White, Psy.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist based in the Rancho Bernardo community of San Diego, currently practicing via telehealth. Dr. White works with symptoms of trauma, dissociation, anxiety disorders, and LGBTQ+ issues, including work with transgender individuals and family members. Of special interest is work with clients for whom animal welfare is a priority, including vegans and vegetarians.
Prior to his graduate studies, White graduated magna cum laude from the University of California at Irvine, where he completed a bachelor's degree in Social Ecology.
Dr. White holds a membership in the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISST-D). He previously conducted group therapy at Scripps Mercy's Behavioral Health Outpatient Program, and has served as co-president of the San Diego chapter of Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG).
I previously worked exclusively in-office, until the world stopped and everything went virtual for a time. During that period, I learned that telehealth, or teletherapy, was effective and convenient for my clients. Travel time, traffic delays, parking problems, accessibility issues, and new clients getting lost were no longer difficulties. People could address their concerns in their day-to-day environment, saving time, gas, and effort. I use a 100% HIPAA-compliant video conference platform, offering full privacy, no new software required. Clients can connect from anywhere in California.
